Privacy Policy
Draft for review — to be finalised with legal counsel before launch.
The Oteji Foundation for Substance Abuse Prevention and Awareness ("the Foundation", "we") is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information with care. This policy explains what we collect and why, in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) / NDPR.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need: help-enquiry messages (which may be anonymous), newsletter email addresses, and donation details processed by our payment provider. We never store card details ourselves.
Confidentiality of help enquiries
Messages sent through our Get Help page are treated as sensitive and confidential. Access is limited to trained staff and is logged. We do not share your information publicly or sell it to third parties.
Marketing consent
We send newsletters only to people who have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Cookies & analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are viewed, the approximate country visitors come from (derived from IP address), and how people find us. This helps us improve our programmes and information.
These analytics cookies load only if you accept them on the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and the site keeps working normally. Your IP address is anonymised before it reaches Google, and we do not use analytics to identify you personally. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie choices” link in the footer.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, then delete or anonymise it.
